WHAT IS THE DALE STREET BRIDGE PROJECT?
The DSBP is a community initiative to make Dale more accessible, safe, and walkable for everyone. The project is also an opportunity for the neighborhood to reclaim Dale Street as a community asset that is not only beautiful, but culturally significant as well.
We support the inclusion of the community in the planning process to ensure that it is a bridge that is owned by the people it serves. We are going to do this by hosting community meetings with project staff and elected officials where neighborhood hopes, concerns, and dreams will shape the project.

WHY IS THE BRIDGE BEING REDESIGNED?
The number of walkers, bikers, and cars on the bridge has increased a large amount since the bridge was last expanded in the 1980s.
To accommodate increased traffic of all kinds, aspects of the bridge and street need to be redesigned.
The Rondo neighborhood was significantly disrupted by the construction of the I-94 freeway. This redesign process is partially a strategy to help reconnect the two sides of Rondo that were disconnected by the freeway and bridge construction.
